Rhonda Saunders is a retired K-12 art teacher – an accomplished artist and asset to this group. She is excited to work with students, especially in a small group setting. Rhonda presents information in simple and easy steps. And enjoys working one-on-one, helping as needed, to improve each participant’s skills.

Now and in future classes, Rhonda's vision includes focusing on individual artistic interests and skill-building. In addition, she will teach how to apply the Basic Elements and Principles of Design to whatever medium we are working in.

A message from Rhonda.

"I love the first snowfall. It is so beautiful!" With every drawing, we learn something new. For example, there are so many subtle differences in color and shading when capturing the essence of a snow scene. It's a unique challenge to recreate. With every drawing, we learn something new. 

As a warm-up, we'll do a few exercises with a holiday theme. The most significant part of the class requires your unique 8 ½ x 11-inch printed image (to be cut). We will talk about the importance of contrast, textures, perspective and composition, demonstrating contrast exercises and methods of location.  All other drawing materials will be provided. 

NOTE: We left a week in between classes so students could continue their work and practice. The last day will be full of discussion, positive critique and possibilities for future projects. I will do all I can to help every student!

Holiday Calligraphy & Card Making. This evening class will provide simple and easy steps in creating stunning calligraphy and making some fun holiday cards (a simple Ho-Ho-Ho card, pop-up cards, maybe even some snowflakes!).

We will try out dip pens, ink pens and calligraphy markers in black and color. This is a fun way to create any kind of greeting card, name cards, labels, etc.
